Policies and Services

Payment & cancellation policy:

All bookings require a 50% deposit payable upfront and balance due on arrival. If a cancelation is made during low season a minimum of 3 days is required and a minimum of 7 days is required when canceling during high and peak seasons. A service fee of 10% will be charged regardless. If you do not cancel before these times stipulated your full deposit will be lost.

Check In and Out:

Check in time only after 14h00 unless unit is ready, please ask. Check out time 10h00. Failure to check out after 10h00 will result in an extra night’s charge.

Smoking:

Sensayuma has a strict no smoking policy in all rooms, dorms and communal living areas.  Please do not discard cigarette butts in pot plants and in the garden, use the ashtrays provided. Please smoke in the designated smoking areas and be considerate of the other guests.

Noise and disturbance:

We are a residential establishment in a quiet, peaceful area. It is important that our guests are respectful to each other and our neighbor’s and therefore we request that there be no loud music or noise after 22h00 and that only paying guests may be on the property in the evenings after 19h00pm. Please note that Sensayuma backpackers is not a party venue – this is a residential area and we cannot allow loud noise and music out of consideration to our neighbors and other paying guests.

Parking:

Strictly for guests only. A parking bay is allocated per room and is very limited.  Please bear with us during busy times and ensure that you complete the parking info on the indemnity form at reception and park properly between the lines without obstructing the roadway and driveway.

Visitors:

The facilities are strictly for paying guests only. No visitors allowed on the premises unless approved by management. Visitors to park at the outside or at the beach - please ensure you advise your visitors.

Overcrowding:

Overcrowding is not allowed.  The maximum number of persons allowed, including children, may not exceed the maximum number of guests indicated for the unit/room.  Should we find overcrowding the entire party will be evicted without refund.

Servicing of units:

All double rooms will be serviced when required, except for Sundays and public holidays. Servicing will include removal of rubbish bags, change of bath mats and cleaning of bathroom if needed. Linen will be changed once a week for long-term stays. Servicing does not include making up of beds or washing of towels or coffee cups. Please ensure that the mugs are washed and packed away when checking out. 

Laundry service:

There is a daily laundry service at reasonable rates available at Sensayuma as well as coin operated washing machines and dryers please enquire at reception for further information.

Supplies on arrival:

We supply toilet paper as well as complimentary tea and coffee in all of our double rooms but we do not supply any toiletries, etc.  These items can be purchased at our on site shop as well as basic foodstuffs, braai packs, charcoal etc.

Monkeys: please do not feed the monkeys!

Ensure that you close all doors and windows when you go out so that the monkeys cannot access your room.  They are very clever and know just what to do to get in - they can cause great havoc if they get into the rooms and will steal your food and whatever else they can get hold of.

TV Channels and DVDs:

Please note that we have 4 regular South African TV channels, SABC 1 2 & 3,and E-TV, there is one DSTV channel that is controlled by the TV in the main reception lounge.  Please advise reception if you wish to watch sports but please understand that we have to cater for all guests and there might be times where we are unable to comply with everyone’s requests. A large selection of interesting documentaries and movies are available at reception for a nominal refundable deposit.

Lights and Water Conservation:

Please ensure that the TV, lights, fans and air conditioners (where applicable) in your room are turned off and that all taps are closed properly when you leave your room.  Please check the outside lights as well. Help us help the environment by being conscious of saving electricity and water.

Swimming Pools:

The use of the swimming pools is entirely at your own risk.  All children under 18 and non-swimmers are to be supervised by adults at all times. Strictly no swimming between 23h00pm and 6h00am. Important: please rinse off all sand at the beach showers and at the pool entrance before entering the pool. No glass, surfboards and bomb diving in the pool.

Communal Areas and Facilities:

Kindly clean up after yourself and ensure that you wash, dry and pack away all dishes that you have used. Please don’t litter – use the bins provided. Let’s all work together to ensure a happy stay for everyone!

We sincerely appreciate your co-operation.  Please abide by the terms and conditions.  If noise and disturbance persist despite warnings from management, we will have no choice but to evict you out of respect and consideration of our other guests and neighbors.
